Recap: July Fourth Weekend

“I’ve got three things to say: God bless our troops! God bless America! AND GENTLEMEN!!!!! START! YOUR! ENGINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” -Kevin James🦅

Last weekend was everything that was promised and more. As always, the Sierra Vista Rotary Club killed it. The 32nd Annual 3rd of July Street Dance had a great vibe to it, with live music and a plethora of food vendors to choose from. Dramatic cloudy skies stood in contrast with the upbeat mood that hung in the air. Parents watched their little ones run around and dance to music while friends sat at picnic tables enjoying good food and conversation. The Fourth of July itself experienced very typical touch and go weather. Monsoons surrounded Sierra Vista as we all gathered and waited, experiencing some rain before the sun went down. The sky alone gave us a show with a breathtaking sunset before the real performance began.

The firework show evoked a sense of excitement and patriotism, and if you made it out to Stone Field, the ground show you got during the intermission was like no other. I hope everyone had a good holiday weekend filled with celebration and good times. Keep an eye out for a post tomorrow on what’s to come!
