Each of these activities are good to do solo, with friends, or with family. The festivities that the Sierra Vista Rotary Club are putting on Wednesday night and all-day Thursday are sure to start your weekend off with a bang. Get off work Wednesday, grab your friends and family, and head out for some live music and good food. The Fourth of July is a great day for holiday tradition, and spending your afternoon and evening partaking in the park festivities are a great way to top it off. Heading to the Stone Ball Fields for the fireworks gives you the chance to witness an incredible ground display before the finale.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are all about summertime fun. Splashing at The Cove Aquatic Center, which is the only wave pool in Southern Arizona, is sure to be a great activity away from the outside weather. Rain or shine, the pool is open and the main wave pool does not close for lighting (a luxury for the monsoon season). Hummingbird banding is an extraordinarily unique activity to partake in on Saturday. These banding sessions only occur for a handful of months during the year and are truly something special. Children can participate but it’s best for them to be older, as they’ll have the opportunity to hold a hummingbird. End your weekend with a leisurely hike out at Brown Canyon House. Go earlier in the morning when the weather is just right, bonus points if it rained the night before, as there may be some cloud cover as well.
